I Am too Alive
I just woke up from a nap where I dreamed they built an 8 lane elevated expressway over my apartment. If you're expecting anything funny or witty or newsworthy from this blog, forget it. I've got 15 minutes to kill till the Large Hulking Son comes to get me from the very expecting Mrs Abez's house.
It's a sleepy, dark, and cloudy Friday in the UAE. We've had three rainy days this week. I don't know the stats, but I'm wondering if this is some kind of rain record for the UAE. The clouds are still dark and lowering. I suspect there is another rain storm left in them. Yesterday's rain was a whopping 14 ml. Now with only two Americans in the room (Abez and myself) neither of us had any idea how to convert mls into inches of rain, let's just say that we had a little bit of rain, but here where we get NO rain at all, even a little is a lot.
The Chateau is still lacking phone, interenet, and cable connections. We got a letter from the phone company stating if we didn't get our buildinng cable ready in a week they would drop our applications. It's a high-rise apartment building... how am I supposed to get it cable-ready??? Such morons.
Let this small and pointless entry prove that I am alive in the very literal sense of the word.
(Editor's note: Momma is good, she brought a chocolate cake roll and had a two-hour nap on the sofa. If this entry seems blah it's probably because we ran out of potato chips. - Abez)
